PS13160, 2024
When a new car is presented at a marketing event, it is often draped in silky fabric to conceal it and help build anticipation. At the time of its unveiling, the fabric slips away dramatically, fostering excitement and focusing the crowd’s attention. That action and an office chair are the subject of PS13160, named for the chair’s product number.
I am interested in the seductive nature of materials and how simple tools and techniques can be employed to create desire and tension. Focus is cultivated through close-up shots, slow motion, and camera pans; the banality of the subject matter contrast with the drama of the reveal.
